Abbey Furniture continues a 45-year tradition in furniture restoration.

We are based in Dundas, Ontario and service the Greater Hamilton Region
(including Dundas, Ancaster, Flamborough, Stoney Creek, Waterdown and Burlington).

OUR VALUES

We believe that furniture should last. We therefore only sell Canadian-made, solid wood products. We do not sell anything made with particle board. We know the people who make our furniture and, through time, experience and trust, we know these products to be of the highest quality.

We believe that the landfills are not a good option. We believe that landfills can avoided and that your cherished furniture can have a new lease on life. Whether it’s regluing those wobbly kitchen chairs, refinishing the beloved kitchen table top, restoring a family heirloom, reupholstering that comfortable (and indestructible) couch from the 80’s or putting fresh paint on a Facebook Marketplace find, the landfill can be avoided. Even more, as a multi-generational business with rich experience in furniture repair and restoration, we can make furniture both usable and beautiful.

We believe in quality workmanship. We stand behind our work. If you find any fault in our workmanship, we will repair it for free. If the finish does stand the test of time, we will sand and re-coat at no extra charge.

We believe in plain, honest communication. We will speak plainly and honestly discuss options. We will honour our quotes, even if we have to take a loss. If something unexpected comes up, we will discuss the matter and get approval before moving ahead. We won’t up-sell. We will not pressure you. We will not recommend something if it is not needed. If we don’t know, we will say so.

Whether a wobbly dining chair, a chewed table leg, chipped veneer, a drawer that won’t slide, an unsightly gouge on your coffee table or a broken mirror, we can help.

Refinishing & Restoration

With time and patience, a whole lot of sanding and attention to detail, and followed with a well-chosen finish, we can restore your furniture to its original beauty or modernize it with a fresh look.

Sales

We sell only 100% Canadian-made solid wood furniture. Our furniture is built to last for generations. We sell in raw, unfinished or we can custom-finish to match your existing decor.

Upholstery

Whether your dining chairs are stained or cracked and need of recovering or your couch has a floral print from the 70’s, we can help. We take care of your upholstery needs.

Custom Orders

Need an island that fits your kitchen remodelling project? Or a bookshelf that’s just right for your office? We take custom orders.

We offer pick up and delivery service in the Dundas, Hamilton and beyond.

* We do not service metal or electronic recliners.
* We do not offer re-caning services
* We reupholster but we we don’t clean upholstery or patch/repair upholstered items
* For smaller repairs (ie broken chairs), it’s best to bring your furniture to us in person during open hours rather than submitting an online quote.
